In 2016, the National Disability INSURANCE Scheme (NDIS) will come into effect in Queensland with one of its key elements being self-directed support.
Self-directed support will enable people with a disability, their families, support networks, service providers and the wider community to design, develop and grow their personalised care. Individuals will have complete control and choice over the supports they wish to receive.
People with a disability who meet the access requirements will be able to participate.
My Life Support Services is currently developing a support model that will help clients plan and manage the services they choose through the self-directed support framework.
